Level 2, Build Swim Skills, is where a swim trainer vest earns its place. Flex-Form foam, an adjustable safety strap and two sizes by weight keep your swimmer supported while paddling grows into swimming.

S/M or M/L?
Every vest here is labelled Level 2, so weigh your child and choose by the number: S/M fits up to 33 lb, M/L fits up to 50 lb. Zip the vest, clip the safety strap and lift gently at the shoulders. If the vest rises past the chin or ears, tighten the strap or size down. Snug is right; loose is not.
What does Flex-Form foam do?
Flex-Form foam is shaped to bend with your child's body. Instead of one stiff block, it moves as they reach and kick, so the vest supports without getting in the way of the skills Level 2 is there to build.
Which vest should I pick for sunny pools?
Look for the vests with UPF 50 shoulder sleeves, which cover the shoulders and upper arms. For children still learning to keep their face up, a vest with a removable chin-up collar is a good choice.
Why choose the neoprene version?
Our premium swim trainer vest is made of neoprene, which feels softer and sits closer to the body. Families who swim often tend to like it for comfort on long pool days. Sizing and strap fit work the same way.
SwimSchool swim trainer vest: sizes S/M and M/L for kids up to 50 lb
A SwimSchool swim trainer vest follows the tot trainer within Level 2 and is the last piece of gear before swimming on your own. Flex-Form foam places buoyancy around the torso, a front zipper makes it easy to get on and off, and the adjustable safety strap between the legs keeps everything from riding up. The result is a child who floats in a good position and can spend their energy on arms, legs and breathing, which is exactly what Level 2, Build Swim Skills, is for.
Choose your kids swim vest by weight: S/M for swimmers up to 33 lb and M/L for swimmers up to 50 lb. From there it is about the details. UPF 50 shoulder sleeves add sun cover, a removable chin-up collar helps beginners keep their face clear, and the neoprene premium vest offers a softer fit. Remember that a swim trainer vest is a learn-to-swim aid, used within arm's reach of an adult. For boating, pick a Coast Guard approved life jacket instead.
